It’s the most marvelous time of the year, and to celebrate, we asked Time Out’s LGBTQ+-identifying writers and editors to tell us all about their favourite city on the planet. The resulting list covers all four corners of the globe, from the beaches of Brazil to the creative hub of Glasgow’s Southside. These are cities with a vibrant queer community, cities that support and protect LGBTQ+ citizens and visitors, and cities that are notable hubs for LGBTQ+ being in their respective countries and regions. So, what are the world’s most LGBTQ+-friendly cities? While we couldn’t possibly name them all, these are some of our favourites.

New research reveals the most LGBTQ+ friendly UK cities for students

Once you’ve chosen the university course you’d like to do, it can be difficult to whittle down the universities you’d appreciate to go and spot on open days.

To help prospective students comprehend whether a city is right for them, as well as our ranking of the best universities in the UK, we hope our study into the top LGBTQ+ amiable cities will be useful.

The research analysed six key metrics to assess all of the UK cities with a population over , The examine compared the following:

  • The size of the local LGBTQ+ population
  • The incidence rate of recorded LGBTQ+ abhor crimes
  • The inclusivity of local mental health services
  • The number of residents interested in LGBTQ+ social groups
  • Review facts of the city's Queer clubs and bar

Our research revealed that London is the country's most LGBTQ+ kind city, with a subdued incidence rate of Gay hate crimes per people. London also had the highest score for Gay nightlife, which it shares with Brighton and Cardi

We compared the biggest U.S. cities based on 20 indicators of an ideal LGBTQ city, such as anti-discrimination policies, the share of same-sex households, and LGBTQ support resources.
