Hallo and Happy Brand-new Year everyone!

Has anyone stayed at the Guesthouse One Belvedere in Capetown?

We've stayed at the Amsterdam Guesthouse, which was kind, but would appreciate to try something new.

We're not big guesthouse fans would rather approach & go as we please from a hotel. So when we were in Cape Town in November, we stayed at the City Lodge V&A Waterfront. It was a superb location, right near the Waterfront, downtown, and the gay neighborhood, with ample free parking & stunning, brand new rooms. When we were there, it was about US$50 a night.

Don't overlook the District 6 museum when you're in Cape Town the most moving part of the trip for me. And check out all the Robben Island artifacts in the waiting room at the building the ferry leaves from. They're almost more valuable than the tour itself for giving you a sense of what life was like for the political prisoners. You'll need a rental car.

Enjoy!
