I thought I'd append to an exisiting thread rather than start a new one.

My partner and I booked a reef/rainforest package from them about ten months ago, paid the depost and they took the balance a couple of weeks ago.

We were meant to be staying in one of their "top of the line" beach front rooms.

It was shocking.

The room backed on to a carpark, just like you'd get in some motel. All concrete block frontage and a small window.

When we got into the room it was small with a double (not king of queen) bed, chipped furtniture, ants all over the floor, and mildewed curtains. The air/con barely worked. I have to say we were pretty shocked. A Travelodge provdies cleaner, better accomodation than this.

The rest of the "resort" seems equally tired. It's overlooked by the road, and everytime a large truck goes by you can hear it. The staff however were very friendly and helpful, however within an hour we decided to leave.

We're now in the Shangri-la up in Cairns, which is of a far lofty
