Een Gaygids voor Frankfurt

Als we aan Duitse steden denken, is onze onmiddellijke reactie altijd Berlijn or München. Maar hoe zit het met Frankfurt? Het is niet een plek waar velen aan denken, behalve dat de stad bekend staat als een financiële en zakelijke krachtpatser Duitsland. Maar het is zoveel meer dan dat. Als je iets hebt met wolkenkrabbers, bossen in de binnenstad en historische gotische architectuur in één stad, zul je hier een geweldige tijd beleven.

Frankfurt ligt in het zuidwesten van het land en ligt langs de rivier de Main (spreek uit Mein). Hoewel het de op vier na grootste stad van Duitsland is, is het verrassend eenvoudig om rond te lopen, maar als je liever op de trams springt, zijn ze ook goedkoop, snel en regelmatig. En last but not least, ons favoriete leuke feit dat deze stad te bieden heeft, is dat het de thuisbasis is van de Duitse 'hotdog', beter bekend als Frankfurters, afgeleid van de stadsnaam zelf, en een must voor elke nieuwkomer!

The AHF (AIDS-Hilfe Frankfurt e. V.) and the IFZ (Internationales Familienzentrum e. V. / International Family Centre) are both long-standing sponsors of various projects in the field of queer and youth services. As cooperation partners, they provide services for young people and young adults who are woman loving woman, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBT*IQ).

Many young people from these target groups still experience the path of their own coming out as difficult and stressful. External factors, such as rejection and lack of understanding at home, school, at the workout place, or insensitive youth welfare institutions can repeatedly lead to crises and make a immature person's self-discovery more difficult. The potentially helpful environment, such as school and various youth welfare services, offer support which can be inadequate. Therefore, young people are largely left alone to try to understand their possess gender or sexual identity.
